For the sixteenth day in a row, the Northwestern Health Unit has reported new cases of COVID-19 across the district.
In total, seven new cases of COVID-19 have been reported. Three in the Sioux Lookout region, two in the Kenora region, one in the Dryden / Red Lake region, and one in the District of Rainy River.
Provincewide, 1,316 new cases were reported on Wednesday.
Follow up with the persons involved and their contacts have started according to protocol. Anyone who is identified as a contact for these cases will be contacted directly.
NWHU recommends that everyone assume COVID-19 is in their community and practise preventive measures like physical distancing, wearing a mask in enclosed public spaces and when physical distancing is a challenge, good hand hygiene, and not touching their face. Anyone who has symptoms, or who has been in contact with a positive case, should self-isolate and get tested.
