Sioux Lookout police and firefighters will be lacing up against each other in 2023’s Battle of the Badges – all in support of local animals in need.
Members of the Sioux Lookout OPP will be looking for revenge against the Sioux Lookout Fire Department after the fire service took last year’s annual fundraising hockey game.
This year, a $5 admission fee is being collected and all proceeds are being donated to the Sioux Lookout Animal Rescue in honour of Sierra Hoppe.
Hoppe was active in the Sioux Lookout hockey community before passing away at the young age of 14 in February 2022.
The game is scheduled to take place on February 18 at 1 p.m. at the Sioux Lookout Memorial Arena.
