The Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs has announced that grooming and trail operations have ended in light of the COVID-19 outbreak, and all OFSC trails will be closed as of midnight, March 21.

The OFSC says that anyone accessing OFSC prescribed snowmobile trails after March 21 could face trespassing charges. They add that anyone who may be travelling by snowmobile is asked to return home before midnight of March 21.

“We’d like to thank all our loyal permit buyers, landowners, club volunteers and partners for their support this season and encourage everyone to do their part and stay healthy and safe as we all work together in overcoming this pandemic,” wrote the OFSC’s Board of Governors, in a prepared release.

The OFSC added that they will be saving money from the reduced operations, and will be investing the savings into the next winter season.
