The Kenora Rowing Club will welcome rowers back to the community this month as they host the 117th North West International Rowing Association’s Championship Regatta on Rabbit Lake. The event will take play the 22nd and 23rd with rowers from mid-west US and mid-Canada. Residents are invited to the viewing area at Garrow park and beach to watch and cheer.

The B-C Lions have been busy pumping the tires for Saturday's upcoming clash of unbeaten C-F-L powers, but the Winnipeg Blue Bombers almost spoiled the Vancouver pigskin promotion. The Toronto Argonauts missed a convert with 25 seconds left in last night's game at B-MO Field to allow the Blue Bombers to escape with a 23-22 victory and with their perfect record intact. Winnipeg became the first team to reach 4 wins, while Toronto slipped to 1-2. The Lions are 3 and 0.
Despite rolling out ace Alek Manoah against one of the weaker Major League Baseball teams, the Toronto Blue Jays still dropped a 5-1 decision to the Athletics in Oakland last night. Manoah was tagged for five runs and six hits in 5 2/3 innings as the Jays lost their fourth straight game, and first of a seven-game West Coast road trip. Jays' left-hander Yusei Kikuchi will try to right the ship tonight in Oakland.
Four-time Olympic Gold Medalist Hayley Wickenheiser will be joining the Toronto Maple Leafs as an Assistant GM for the 2022-2023 season. Wickenheiser joined the Leafs in 2018 as an Assistant Director of Player Development before being promoted to Senior Director last year. Wickenheiser now becomes the third female Assistant GM in the NHL.
