Another jam-packed night in the Kenora slo-pitch league. On the women's side, Vonda Fletcher had a home run and Maddy Wiebe hit two triples to help the Dunit Diamonds take down Bat Intentions. Debra Kakeway and Chloe Skead each had a home run in the Devil's Gap Chiefs victory over Bob's Burgers. Elsewhere, the Neniska Crushers took down KTown Kafe. On the men's side, the D Smith A's took the game over Sons of Pitches, and it was a tight one, but Lakeside Dental took the win over Matheson Bay.

For the first time since 2019, general managers from all 32 teams will be in attendance at the Bell Centre in Montreal for today's first round of the 2022 N-H-L draft. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 and 2021 drafts were held in a remote format with teams convening via video conferences. The Montreal Canadiens get the first pick today, followed by the New Jersey Devils, Arizona Coyotes and Seattle Kraken.

Week 5 in the C-F-L regular season kicks off tonight with Part 2 in the Battle of Alberta. The Calgary Stampeders, who tripped the Edmonton Elks 30 to 23 on June 25th at McMahon Stadium, will try to improve their 3-0 record at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium, while the host Elks will be aiming to even up the provincial rivalry and change their 1-3 record.

The Toronto Blue Jays have pressed ``refresh'' ahead of their four-game series against the surging Mariners in Seattle. The Blue Jays closed a forgettable series against the Oakland Athletics with a 2-1 win in which they got timely hitting and solid pitching. Left-hander Marco Gonzales will pitch for the Mariners tonight, while the Blue Jays haven't said who will start in place of Kevin Gausman, who is trying to recover from an ankle injury.
