In women's slo-pitch action - the Car Star Renegades won over the WNHAC wreckers 13-12, with a home run by Sabrina Beacham. Devils Gap Chiefs won a 10-0 to edge Dunit. CUPE won 16-13 against DJ services where Julie Campbell got a home run and the Royals destroyed Riverview Rebels 38-3
On the men's side, the Matheson Bay Mustangs defeated the Beauty Bay Cubs 19-18
The Edmonton Oilers are off to the Western Conference final. Connor McDavid scored at 5:03 of overtime as the Oilers defeated the Calgary Flames 5-4 to win their second-round playoff series 4-1. The Edmonton captain fired his seventh goal of the post-season past Jacob Markstrom to send the Oilers spilling over the bench in celebration.
In the other Stanley Cup playoff game, the Hurricanes own a 3-2 lead in their second-round series following a 3-1 victory over the Rangers.
There's only one game slated in the Stanley Cup Playoffs tonight. The St. Louis Blues are hosting the Colorado Avalanche and looking to force a Game 7 back in Denver. The winner of this series will see the Oilers in the Western Conference final.
The C-F-L Players' Association ratified its new collective bargaining agreement. The ratification came two days after C-F-L commissioner Randy Ambrosie unveiled the league's final offer to its players. The deal must also be ratified by the C-F-L board of governors, but that's not expected to be an issue. With the players accepting the agreement, the league's exhibition season will open on time Friday night.
After taking the series opener, the Toronto Blue Jays are back at in Anaheim tonight to take on the Los Angeles Angels. Yusei Kikuchi will get the start for the Jays, who have won four of their last six games.
