Students will be returning to the classroom in just over a month as the 2021-2022 school year begins just after the Labour Day long weekend.
Confederation College has announced a vaccination expectation.
"It's our expectation that students and staff will be fully vaccinated coming into the start of the new school year this fall," said Kathleen Lynch, President of Confederation College.
"[This is] because we have received word from the Ministry of Colleges and Universities that we can open up our classrooms to students this fall for our theory classes," Lynch continued.
The expectation is the school community will be full-vaccinated prior to the return to the classroom on Tuesday, September 7th.
Fully online and remote learning is not affected by this expectation.
"The best way to keep our campuses safe and continue to be open is to get vaccinated," underscored Lynch.
Confederation College says that if international students arrive in Canada unvaccinated, they will be offered the opportunity to be vaccinated while in quarantine.
International students already in Canada are fully eligible for vaccinations.
