Kenora MP Eric Melillo is pressing the federal government for final decisions, when it comes to funding for summer students.

"Can this government please provide a timeline for when all final decisions will be made?" Melillo asked, during Question Period in the House of Commons last week.

In response, the minister said they were working as quickly as possible during the pandemic, in order to flow the money to cash-starved businesses.

"We're doing a number of things differently, like in many programs this year, as a result of this pandemic, including adding flexibilities into Canada Summer Jobs, so that we can take advantage of every possible opportunity for students across this country," replied Carla Qualtrough, the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Disability Inclusion.
