One person faces seven charges in connection to an assault that landed two police officers in Dryden in hospital.

The OPP say the incident took place around 8:30 Monday night when officers responded to an assault in a home on Pitt Avenue.

When they arrived, three officers were attacked by a person using a edged weapon.

Two of the officers had to be transported to hospital for treatment, and the other officer suffered only minor injuries and wasn't transported to hospital.

A 30 year old Dryden man faces two count of aggravated assault of a peace officer, assault with a weapon, three counts of resisting a peace officer and public mischief.

The suspect is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in Kenora Court at a later date.
