A Dryden woman is celebrating following a successful showing at the Canadian Physique Alliance Natural Golden Prairie Cup.
37-year-old Rae-Ann Stevens is now home from Saskatoon, SK where competed in the Women's Wellness division. She took home the top spot in the Masters 35+ and Open events.
"It feels great! The show was really well-run. This was my first time in the wellness category as I had competed previously in bikini, but my coach and I decided to change to the wellness category, which is a more developed lower body," she said.
"We still have to wait to heard feedback from the judges, but the outcome was great and felt good to have a burger afterwards," she laughs.
Stevens has been training for the Natural Golden Prairie Cup since last November where she took first in the Van Dyjk Classic in Winnipeg for the bikini division. This is her fourth year competing within the Canadian Physique Alliance and says the sport is rewarding.
"I appreciate the love and support. Every time I do one of these shows, there are so many people invested and rooting me on. I hope my journey can inspire someone to give the gym a try or to try something new. I'm 37 and I'm still chasing my dream."
