A social media post has led to charges for two northwestern Ontario youth.
On March 17, the Dryden OPP say they were notified of a social media post showing a single motor vehicle collision in the Zealand Township, east of Dryden.
Officers later located the video where they observed a driver steering a motor vehicle erratically, swerving between both lanes of the highway. The vehicle later rolled onto its side and slid into a snowbank. No injuries were reported.
As a result of the OPP’s investigation, 21-year-old Chance Jackson of Zealand Township is facing charges of:
- Dangerous Operation,
- Fail to Remain,
As well, 22-year-old Joshua Halchuk of Wainwright Township is facing charges of:
- Adult Occupant – Fail to Report Accident,
- Fail to notify change of address licence,
Both accused are scheduled to appear in courts at a later date.
