Ice anglers and snowmobilers are reminded to be extra careful on the ice this winter, as water levels continue to change.

Control board staff say water levels on the Winnipeg River will drop eight to 10 inches next week, as crews perform maintenance at the Kenora and Norman generating stations.

Levels on Lake of the Woods dipped two inches last week, and they're expected to drop another three inches over the next week.

The current level of Lac Seul is 1,169.6 ft, an 85th percentile level for this time of year. The average lake level declined by an inch over the past week and is expected to decline by one or two inches over the next week. Lac Seul outflow is 450 m³/s, with no changes scheduled.
