The North West Region OPP has charged two Winnipeg residents with drug and firearm offences after a bust at a Fort Frances business.

The OPP say they executed the warrant at a business on the 1000 Block of Kings Highway 11 in Fort Frances shortly after 11 a.m. on April 1, with the help of the Fort Frances Community Street Crime Unit.

As a result, 36-year-old Byron Dignard of Winnipeg is facing charges of:

- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine,
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl,
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000,
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm,
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
- Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order,
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,
- Failure to comply with release order – other than attend court x 3,

As well, 41-year-old Cara Hall of Winnipeg is charged with:  

- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – methamphetamine,
- Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – fentanyl,
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000,
- Knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm,
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,

The two were held in custody and appeared in Fort Frances courts on April 4.
