Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for parts of the region. Residents across northwestern Ontario may be affected, however, the storm is tracking to continue east.
Environment Canada says that a band of freezing rain mixed with snow and ice pellets is expected to move eastwards ahead of a warm front and just north of the Minnesota state border today. Residents are urged to take care when walking or driving in affected areas, and to be prepared to adjust your driving habits with changing road conditions.
Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
