The Dryden Police Service is continuing to warn the public about a jewelry scam in the area.
Police have been investigating reports of two males - reportedly from Dubai, driving a gold Pathfinder with possible Quebec Licence plates – approaching vehicles asking to trade jewelry for money.
Other reports say that a roughly 6’ Middle Eastern male with a female passenger – driving a brown/grey van – asking to trade jewelry for money, who say that they are travelling back to Toronto from holidays and have no money.
Police again warn the public that the jewelry is fake, and to contact police immediately if you are approached by these individuals. A similar scam took place in Kenora recently, and has been reported across the province.
If anyone has any information, you are asked to contact the DPS at 807-223-3281, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
